The Bangkok Flower Market (Pak Klong Talad) is the biggest wholesale and retail fresh flower market in Bangkok.  The market is busiest between 3:30AM and 6AM. Thais grow and use a lot of flowers.   • 14 AUGUST 2013 - HONG KONG: Women waiting for a flight in Hong Kong watch a movie on an iPad in Hong Kong International Airport. Dozens of flights were delayed at one of the busiest airports in Asia and Hong Kong raised their alert to level 8, the highest, and closed schools and many businesses because of Severe Typhoon Utor. The storm passed within 260 kilometers of Hong Kong before making landfall in mainland China. Severe Typhoon Utor (known in the Philippines as Typhoon Labuyo) is an active tropical cyclone located over the South China Sea. The eleventh named storm and second typhoon of the 2013 typhoon season, Utor formed from a tropical depression on August 8. The depression was upgraded to Tropical Storm Utor the following day, and to typhoon intensity just a few hours afterwards.   • 11 JULY 2013 - PATTANI, PATTANI, THAILAND:  A woman photographs Ramadan services at Pattani Central Mosque in Pattani, Thailand, with her iPad. The mosque is one of the busiest in south Thailand. About 15,000 people attend nightly Ramadan services in the mosque. Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, and the month in which Muslims believe the Quran was revealed. Muslims believe that the Quran was sent down during this month, thus being prepared for gradual revelation by Jibraeel (Gabriel) to the Prophet Muhammad.   • 16 OCTOBER 2011 - PHOENIX, AZ: An Occupy Phoenix protester holds up a sign he put on the back of his iPad in downtown Phoenix Sunday evening. About 200 people continued the Occupy Phoenix protest in downtown Phoenix Sunday afternoon. The protest peaked Saturday afternoon at about 2,000 people. Nearly 50 people were arrested late Saturday night on misdemeanor trespassing charges when they tried to camp in a park near downtown and on Sunday the crowd dwindled to 200. The Bangkok Mass Transit System, commonly known as the BTS Skytrain, is an elevated rapid transit system in Bangkok, Thailand. It is operated by Bangkok Mass Transit System Public Company Limited (BTSC) under a concession granted by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA). The system consists of twenty-three stations along two lines: the Sukhumvit line running northwards and eastwards, terminating at Mo Chit and On Nut respectively, and the Silom line which plies Silom and Sathon Roads, the Central Business District of Bangkok, terminating at the National Stadium and Wongwian Yai. US President Barack Obama won a second term Tuesday when he defeated Republican Mitt Romney. Preliminary tallies gave the President more than 300 electoral votes, well over the 270 needed to win. The election in the United States was closely watched in Thailand, which historically has very close ties with the United States. The American Embassy in Bangkok sponsored an election watching event which drew thousands to a downtown Bangkok hotel. "Black Friday" is the unofficial start of the Christmas holiday shopping season and has traditionally thought to be one of the busiest shopping days of the year. Brick and mortar retailers, like Target, are facing increased pressure from online retailers this year. Many retailers have started opening on Thanksgiving Day. Crowd of mourners continue to go to the palace to honor the King, nearly three weeks after his death. Thais are honoring their late King, Bhumibol Adulyadej, also known as Rama IX, in various ways. Many barbers are offering mourners free haircuts on the streets near the Grand Palace, where the King is lying in state and communities around the palace are offering free meals to mourners walking to the palace.   • 06 JULY 2016 - BANGKOK, THAILAND: A family looks at pictures on their iPad before Eid services at Ton Son Mosque in the Thonburi section of Bangkok. Eid al-Fitr is also called Feast of Breaking the Fast, the Sugar Feast, Bayram (Bajram), the Sweet Festival or Hari Raya Puasa and the Lesser Eid. It is an important Muslim religious holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. Muslims are not allowed to fast on Eid. The holiday celebrates the conclusion of the 29 or 30 days of dawn-to-sunset fasting Muslims do during the month of Ramadan. Islam is the second largest religion in Thailand.   • 06 APRIL 2012 - HAI PHONG, VIETNAM: A Vietnamese boy plays with a passenger's iPhone on the return leg of the Hanoi to Hai Phong Express. Apple products and Steve Jobs have achieved cult like status in Vietnam and iPhones and iPads are widely available throughout the country. iPhones are sold side by side with Android phones but Vietnamese consumers overwhelmingly prefer the Apple products. The Hanoi to Hai Phong Express Train runs several times a day between Long Bien Station in Hanoi and the Hai Phong Station. Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam and Hai Phong is the 4th largest city in Vietnam. Hai Phong is the principal industrial port in the northern part of Vietnam.
