18 JULY 2016 - UBUD, BALI, INDONESIA: A large "Not For Sale" sign in a rice field near Ubud. Many rice fields around Ubud have been sold and turned into homes for foreign retirees or expensive hotels for foreign tourists. Rice is an integral part of the Balinese culture. The rituals of the cycle of planting, maintaining, irrigating, and harvesting rice enrich the cultural life of Bali beyond a single staple can ever hope to do.
