Singapore - A City of Many Faiths

20 images Created 22 Dec 2012

Singapore is an incredibly diverse city off the southern tip of peninsular Malaysia. Its role in world business - nearly as important as New York, London or Hong Kong - completely belie the city-state's relative small size. Originally settled by Muslim Malays, it was colonized by the British, who imported Chinese and Indian laborers and civil servants. The imported workers all brought their faiths with them. This ethnic stew; Malay, Indian, Chinese and British make Singapore what it is today - an amazingly diverse place where Buddhists, Muslims and Hindus worship side by side.
