13 OCTOBER 2016 - BANGKOK, THAILAND: People pray for the King of Thailand shortly before his death was announced at Siriraj Hospital. Thousands of people came to the hospital to pray for the beloved monarch. Bhumibol Adulyadej, the King of Thailand, died at Siriraj Hospital in Bangkok Thursday, October 13, 2016. Bhumibol Adulyadej, 5 December 1927 – 13 October 2016, was the ninth monarch of Thailand from the Chakri Dynasty and is known as Rama IX. He became King on June 9, 1946 and served as King of Thailand for 70 years, 126 days.
