23 AUGUST 2020 - WEST DES MOINES, IOWA: People sit on the lawn during a memorial service for the victims of COVID-19 at West Des Moines United Methodist Church. More than 100 people attended the service at the church for Iowans who have died from COVID-19. Iowa is one of the Midwestern states that has recorded an increasing number of COVID-19 infections. Since Friday, August 21, Iowa has recorded 1,448 new cases of COVID-19.
